The BEI program pays technicians a commission for every copy they can manage. This is measured from each call the tech completes to the following call. If the following call does not meet our callback standards the technician looses those copies. We then take those accumulated copies and weigh them against the parts used to get them, to come up with a parts CPC (cost per copy). The techs parts CPC is measured against a pre determined goal for the volume of copies managed. If the tech is under the goal a percentage of the savings is passed back to the tech, over the goal and an equal percentage is taken from their bonus. It works because it address's all the key behaviors we need to improve; Effectiveness, Efficiency and Productivity. It works because your techs must only remember 3 key things; Do more quality calls per day, make each machine work longer between calls, use only the necessary parts, no more, no less. 4We can then spend more time supporting and managing the change not trying to find what needs to be changed.
